Coach Bob

Robert Clark is a competitive Powerlifter that has competed in the sport since 2002.  His highest total to date is 1795 pounds with a 755 squat, 501 bench press, and 562 deadlift. In 2005, he co-owned a gym and began coaching a powerlifting team, which included teaching proper technique through hands-on training, customized programs, meet preparation, meet peaking cycles and nutrition.  

Robert’s extensive knowledge and experience comes from years of lifting himself, a true passion for the sport, self-guided research, as well as learning from some of the greatest and most knowledgeable powerlifters of our time.  He learned the concurrent conjugate (Westside) system directly from Dave Tate and Jim Wendler, block sequencing from Landon Evans, and has worked with Rick Hussey, John Bott, Mark Bell, and many other renowned lifters.  

Throughout Robert’s coaching career, he has coached 7 lifters to ELITE totals.  He is currently coaching Katrina Bielomyza, who is ranked top 10 in the country within multiple divisions and classes.  When she first started lifting under Robert’s guidance, she had never lifted in “gear/equipped” and squatted 600 pounds in her first “equipped” meet putting her in the top 10 for this category.  She is on track to hit even bigger numbers at APF Nationals, her next meet.  At APF Nationals, Katrina hit a massive 722 squat and qualified for her first WPO Finals.  Since this meet, Katrina has competed in 3 WPO meets with the top competition in the world.  As of this writing (9-29-21), Katrina now owns the biggest bench by a female of ALL TIME with a 607.5 lb bench press.

From absolute beginners, to Elite level lifters, Robert has you covered. For beginners, Robert will take your personal goals, develop a customized plan, teach you proper technique (with an emphasis on safety), keep you accountable, and patiently work with you to get the most out of your time training.  Elite Level lifters will benefit from Robert’s experience and knowledge by having a coach with a keen eye to see weaknesses in your technique and cues to make your lifts more efficient and stronger as well as proven programs for meet preparation and peaking to take you to the next level.
